Both Sophie and G love the peacock feather I got from them at a local farm. It cracked me up to see her pupils so dilated! 🙂

Breast Cancer Awareness – It’s not just for people

My sweet Rosie.

My sweet Rosie.

This is my sweet girl Rosie. She crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2013 because she had a very aggressive cancer on her belly near her shoulder. In addition to that, she also had surgery to remove a few mammary tumors. Yes, breast cancer can – and does – affect cats.

Connie at Tails from the Foster Kittens wrote a very informative, helpful blog about breast cancer in cats. It’s more common than you think. Please give it a read. Cancer of any kind is awful but early detection can help.

Twofur Tuesday

Sophie snuck up to the top of the couch this weekend while I was watching tv. I love it when she does that. 🙂 When Grizzy later followed her up there, I assumed he was going to lick her to death and then wrestle. My heart melted when I saw him snuggle up next to her and gently lay his head on her. Aww…

Hey, I’m trying to sleep!

That’s better.

Sophie and the slipper

Can I fit in here?

I walked into the bathroom and cracked up at Sophie trying to put her entire head into my slipper. That girl definitely likes her footwear.

Thrifty Thursday: It’s Halloween time!

Yes! One of my favorite times of the year. It’s also a new month and I don’t know about you, but I am so glad to have a fresh start. It’s also the start of Q4! Talk about time flying…

How is that segue to a piece of “vintage” Halloween?

Helllooo, trick-or-treaters!

I wonder when this was made. I’m guessing in the ’70s or ’80s? I remember having some like that as a kid. In a way, I wish I had bought it but I do have plenty of Halloween decorations. A part of me thinks I could always have more, but until I have a larger space, I think I’m pretty well set. (Of course, that doesn’t mean I won’t add to the collection… 🙂 ). This lovely piece didn’t make it home with me, but I sure am glad I got a picture of it for posterity. Isn’t it cool how just a picture can make you smile and bring back memories of long ago? Good times.
